MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The average DTN spot price for domestic distillers
dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended July 8 was
$153 per ton on average, up $1 on average versus two weeks ago. Prices were
mixed overall with demand slowing in the summer, especially due to the extreme
heat as cattle tend to eat less.

DDG prices were slightly higher on average for the week as the cash corn
price was higher versus two weeks ago. The DTN National Average Corn Index was
up 20 cents per bushel, while soybean meal prices were up $6.20 versus two
weeks ago. (Prices basis September futures)

Based on the average prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to
corn for the week ended July 8 was 0.939%. The value of DDG relative to soybean
meal was 49.16% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.67 compared to
the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.55.

USDA on Tuesday used Census Bureau data to provide more details for DDGS
exports in May. U.S. exports of DDGS totaled 1,081,691 metric tons (mt) in May,
up from 1,020,732 mt in April, and the largest May exports since 2015. Mexico
was the top destination in May, taking almost 20% of U.S. exports and was
followed by South Korea and Indonesia. Through May, 2026 exports of DDGS are
running 14% ahead of the same point in 2025.

Ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.093 million barrels per
day (bpd) in the week ended July 3, the Energy Information Administration
reported Wednesday. That's down 24,000 bpd week-on-week and 6,000 bpd, or 0.5%,
higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.1 million
bpd was 18,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol
production averaged 1.032 million bpd, down 21,000 bpd week-on-week and 4,000
bpd, or 0.4%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output
at 1.041 million bpd was 17,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
